Thoughts of turkey dinner are a distant memory and the excitement of the holidays is upon us. This season, fashion has given us many reasons to shine. Yes, ladies, this is the time to amp up your outfits and bring on the brilliance. It is a magical time of the year filled with holiday cheer and delightful cocktail dresses that can brighten up even the grinchiest girls. So let's put on the glitz and flaunt some irresistible new styles.
Today I presented a holiday fashion segment on Fox 6 News in the Morning with beautiful anchorwoman, Angela Chee. I brought six lovely models with me to wear gorgeous holiday frocks from five local boutiques, including: The Back Room, European Moda, J Carl Shoes (the Diego di Lucca concept store), and The Rare Earth in Del Mar, along with Safarlou in Solana Beach. It was all about age appropriate glamorous outfits that reflect the dazzle of December and the magic of the New Year. Watch our show segment »

My first model was Denise, a beautiful brunette in her early 50's. She wore a dramatic red dress from Safarlou paired with a black crystal necklace and earrings, and stacked black, clear and red crystal bangles. We added a sumptuous red pashmina wrap for instant glamour. There is something special about a red dress; it always gets attention and this one certainly filled the bill.
Kristen, who is fabulous and 40, then modeled a radiant burnished gold dress by Sue Wong from The Rare Earth. It was accompanied by a gold Lily Pearl bracelet and Lovi Love gold earrings. It was a perfect dress for autumn and holiday parties.
Next up was Adriana, a gorgeous girl in her 30's, who wore a bold yet tasteful black strapless dress from The Rare Earth. We added a substantial Lovi Love necklace and earrings with an elegant crystal bangle. It was a sophisticated yet alluring look for any occasion calling for a cocktail dress.
Ashley, a very pretty new mom at 27, wore a flirty black trapeze dress with demure beading at the neckline and chest. We added dangly black crystal earrings and stacked clear and black crystal bangles to complete this retro modern look that would be right for any party.
Heather, a 21 year old cutie, wore a pair of super trendy Rock & Republic dark denim jeans with beading on the back pockets paired with a shimmery dark silver top by Generra from The Back Room. It was topped with a gorgeous black leather and Siberian fox jacket from European Moda. We put black crystal earrings and a big crystal cuff with this ensemble to make it perfect for spreading holiday cheer at the hottest nightclubs.
Vanessa, my adorable teen model, wore a swingy gray dress from The Back Room by Velvet that had a jewel encrusted neckline-a great way to wear jewelry without actually buying any. The dress itself made such a statement that we minimized the accessories to just a cuff bracelet. She wore cute dark gray patent ballet flats to keep it fun.
All the models wore elegant shoes by Diego di Lucca, which are sold at J Carl Shoes in Del Mar. European Moda, in the Del Mar Plaza, known for their luxurious leather goods, provided chic handbags for each outfit. It was a very early morning for all of us, but it was exceedingly fun to be part of a broadcast with fashionably fun looks for the holidays.
